We welcome visits to the Museum from organised tour groups and travel operators and can work with you to develop bespoke packages to meet the needs and interests of your client group.
For more information and to discuss how we can help give your clients an exceptional experience in the heart of one of the oldest cities in Scotland, please contact us via traveltrade@culturepk.org.uk.
A standard tour during opening hours will include access to the Stone of Destiny experience and highlights of the Museum displays. Where time allows this can also include access to the temporary exhibition on at the time of your visit. (Details of temporary exhibition programmes can be found in the What’s On section.) Costs without temporary exhibition access are:
All our tours are led by our knowledgeable and friendly Visitor Experience team members. We can also arrange for a curator-led tour which provides deeper, specialist knowledge of a subject area if that would be useful. There is an additional charge for this type of tour.
Groups larger than 15 persons will be placed into smaller groups for ease of movement around the Museum. It should be noted that the Stone of Destiny experience takes about 10 minutes to complete in groups of no more than 15 plus a tour guide.
Tours before and after our public opening hours can be arranged with a minimum of 8 weeks’ notice. These can be tailored to suit interests and an example of costs for a 1 hour tour are set out below. Tours can focus on particular displays and temporary exhibitions as required and all will include access to the Stone of Destiny experience.
Suitable for 1 to 60 pax
For smaller groups or for those wishing to make their own itinerary in the City for the day, we can arrange advance booking for access to the Stone (note, this is a timed entry experience) and can make available access guides in a variety of languages.
Invoices must be raised and paid prior to the Tour date. No refund for tours cancelled with less than 48 hours notice. 50% refund for cancellations of between 48 and 72 hours and a full refund, less processing fee, will be given where more than 72 hours notice is given.
Any catering requirements must be discussed at the time of tour booking. Our café cannot accept bookings for more than 40 people and will offer a set menu for all groups of more than 8 people. Coach drivers and tour guides accompanying tour groups will get a free refreshment when groups are booked into the café.
