TIME: 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

LOCATION:

TICKETS: yes

EVENT TYPE: City of Craft

EVENT SUITABILITY: Adults (16+)

Three new Community Assets are available in Perth City Centre: a glass kiln, a ceramics kiln, and a photography dark room. These assets are tools that members of our local community can use without the costs of a regular membership or rent. You only pay for what you use, for instance for the kilns, you will pay for the electricity used, and for the dark room a small fee towards the replenishment of chemicals used.

Local glass maker and Perthshire Artisan, Jane Drysdale or Berkley Glass, will be delivering introductory sessions to the Glass Kiln.

These sessions will include an introduction to the kiln itself, what it actually does, basic health and safety and equipment needed.

These sessions are suitable for all levels of experience and anyone wanting to build up their confidence to use the Community Glass Kiln independently. (Please note that all users wishing to use the Community Assets will need to complete an induction to work with them unsupervised and existing knowledge of how to use them is required.)

We have tried to make the cost of these sessions as accessible as possible at £11.50 including booking fee. If you would like to take part, but the cost is prohibitive, please contact perthcraftcity@gmail.com.

Location: Perth Creative Exchange

Date: 23 October, from 9:30am-12 noon.

There are also workshops on 30 October and 6 November.
