Visual /Digital Artist and Facilitator to design an activity sheet and digital ‘YOUnicorn’ mural

We are looking for a creative to take on the above project for Perth Museum. The main creative outputs are:

  • Design an activity/prompt sheet to be used in Perth Museum and libraries across Perth and Kinross. The activity sheet will guide young people to design themselves as a ‘YOUnicorn’; if you were a unicorn what would you look like/be doing/wearing/feeling etc?
  • The artist will then incorporate all the YOUnicorn designs into a landscape mural to be printed off large scale and displayed in Perth Museum.
  • Artists will be asked to help select three winning designs and help with applying the three winning designs onto clothing – t-shirt/cap/tote bag.
  • Facilitate two one-hour workshops with vulnerable groups using the activity/prompt sheets as starting points.

Visual artist and experienced facilitator to deliver unicorn-themed family workshops in libraries over the summer holidays

We are looking for a visual artist and experienced facilitator to deliver eight unicorn-themed workshops for children and families in libraries across Perth and Kinross. Libraries to be covered are Strathearn, Loch Leven, Breadalbane, Scone, Blairgowrie, North Inch, Auchterarder and the AK Bell. Suggested workshops include:

  • Junk Model Unicorns
  • Stained Glass Unicorns
  • Unicorn Hobby Horse

Fee: £566-£880 based on Scottish Artists Union rates. Travel to and from Perth and Materials are covered separately.

Boy/Girl/Unicorn in Museum/Art Gallery/Library Activity

We are looking for a visual artist/designer to create a self-led activity for use in Perth Museum, Perth Art Gallery and libraries across Perth and Kinross, using the concept of Boy/Girl/Unicorn as a theme. The activity should challenge traditional gender stereotypes – highlighting how mythical creatures, such as unicorns, can empower young people to be anything they want to be, using self-expression and creativity.

Fee: £452-£700 for two days of design work based on the Scottish Artists Union rate.

Facilitator/artist /designer to run a four week ‘Dungeons and Unicorns’ 3D Design and Printing project for LGBTQIA+ Young People

We are seeking a Graphic Designer/Facilitator who identifies as queer/part of the LGBTQIA+ community to run a 3D design and printing project in partnership with the AK Bell Library Maker_Space for six LGBTQIA+ young people interested in creating their own Unicorn themed DND characters using digital programmes and 3D printing. Applicants must have an understanding of, and interest, in DND games, rules, and characters.

Four workshops to include all equipment and materials.

Fee: £800 based on Scottish Artists Union rates.

  • The dates for the project are TBC but are likely to occur on four evenings in June/July 2024.
