Who was Mary, Queen of Scots and who were the powerful people pulling the strings around her?

Join local history lecturer Lars Cook of the University of the Highlands and Islands Perth, for a fascinating session exploring the dramatic family ties, rivalries and political alliances which shaped Mary’s life and reign. Using a large-scale genealogy timeline, Lars will guide attendees through the people at the heart of Mary’s story from monarchs and lovers to enemies and allies.

With years of experience as a costumed interpreter and a deep historical knowledge of royal power struggles, Lars brings Scotland’s tangled dynastic past to life with vivid storytelling and a touch of theatrical flair. Whether you’re a student, a history enthusiast or just curious about Mary’s place in the royal family tree, this is a rare chance to trace the connections, claims and conflicts which defined her world.
