Star Objects
This special display is a celebration of three years of creative collaboration through the Perth Museum Partner Schools Programme, which worked with children in Primary 4-7 and with Culture Perth and Kinross’s Youth Collective, which comprised of local 16-25 year olds.
Young participants of all abilities and backgrounds have gained knowledge, confidence, life skills and real world experience of creative and cultural careers. On view in this display are spotlight examples of the imagination, skill and passion of children and young adults who have shared their stories and perspectives in partnership with the staff, buildings, and collections across Culture Perth and Kinross. The objects and images you will encounter in this display reflect a wide range of projects across our venues; from the creation of artworks and costume-making to film, fashion, label writing and exhibition curation, this display is a testament to what children and young adults can achieve with the right support and investment.
With thanks to the pupils, staff, and families of Alyth, Abernethy, Balhousie, Fairview, Goodlyburn, Letham, Moncreiffe, North Muirton, Riverside, Saint Ninians and Tulloch Primary Schools; all current and past members of the Culture Perth and Kinross Youth Collective, and the staff, volunteers, freelancers, and partners who helped us along the way.
The work on display has been made possible through generous funding from The Gannochy Trust.
